3D space and context (ECO-3D)

Head : Yves TROTTER

The actual field of interests of the team ECO-3D is to study the optimization of visual processing by postural and navigation cues in the peripersonal space in the human and non human primate. The spatial area located “straight ahead” especially in the near space is more particularly investigated using psychophysical and functional imaging approaches (fMRI and EEG). Furthermore contextual influences on the brain cartographic organization are explored, that include 3D visual illusions, ocular vergence and rewards signals. These studies are completed by computational modelling aiming at reproducing human visual performances with artificial neural networks. Clinical approaches are also performed using electrical brain stimulation in patients during “awake surgery” ; also rehabilitation protocols using perceptual learning are developed in patients affected by age-related macular degeneration (AMD).
